Granite is a completely natural stone that is extracted from stone quarries. These unpolished stones are then cut into tiny slabs, polished, and formed into countertops. Quartz countertops are engineered stone materials with a high percentage of crushed quartz (92% to 94%). Other minerals and pigments are used for coloring, and resin holds everything together.

Granite vs. Quartz Countertops

Granite comes in various colors, ranging from subtle earthy tones to vibrant greens, roses, and blues. With so many alternatives, you may have to seek the correct item that suits the color scheme of the surrounding environment. On the other hand, quartz has more constant coloration and comes in a broader range of colors due to the addition of pigments. This broadens and simplifies the selection process. Also, Granite countertops must be resealed regularly following installation, and stains on such counters must be wiped immediately to avoid leaving a mark.

Quartz countertops, unlike granite, do not need to be resealed after installation, and gentle cleaning is required to keep such surfaces spotless. As a result, quartz countertops are easier to clean than granite countertops. Although granite in its natural state is breathtakingly beautiful, it has several drawbacks. At installation and on an ongoing basis, the stone ought to be resealed; this kind of attention is unnecessary for quartz.
