Difference Between Grill and BBQ

Believe it or not, grilling and barbecuing are not the same thing. Although we might use these words as synonyms most of the time, they actually have different meanings.

Grilling is a technique that involves smaller cuts, which are cooked over high heat with no smoke or lid.

Barbecuing, on the other hand, usually involves larger cuts, which are cooked slowly over low heat with the lid on. This technique resembles roasting, but often involves smoke.

Grilling VS Barbecuing

While smaller and thinner cuts of meat such as steaks and burgers are supposed to be grilled, larger and tougher cuts like ribs and brisket are best barbecued. Grilling takes less time and involves high temperatures, while barbecuing can take up to twenty-four hours over low temperatures.
