Difference between Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

Both Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge belong to the latest generation of smart phones produced by Samsung Electronics. Both phones share the same basic set of features. However, there are some differences between the two models and we will take a look at them.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge are the most recent smart phones with preinstalled Android OS. Both models were released in April 2015 all over the globe. Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge inherited their design from the previous smart phone by Samsung, albeit with some changes.  The reviews generally praised both models, focusing on the advanced design and improvements in the performance of the camera.

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs S6 Edge

  • The principal difference between Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge is that the latter has a curved screen. Apart from the difference in the appearance, the curved screen provides the user of the S6 Edge with some extra features. These include, among others, displaying time while in the “sleep” mode, and “people edge” mode, which allows flexible access to five contacts from the user’s list. Each contact can be assigned to a specific color.
  • The battery of the S6 Edge has more capacity than that of the S6 – 2,600mAh vs 2,550mAh.
  •  The S6 Edge with its 132 grams of weight is 6 grams lighter than the S6.
  • The S6 Edge is 7 mm thick, and that is about 0.2mm more than the S6.
